The story behind our movement for the ocean.
Our core is the community of Tamarindo, "Where the worlds meet", but we extend throughout Costa Rica, and even cross the oceans around the world.Ā
We are a diverse and inclusive community, with a diversity of experiences, circumstances, and motivations who have a shared vision of a world where people and the earth can thrive together.
We are committed to investing in the health and wellness of ourselves, our community & our environment.
Costa Rica is a uniquely beautiful place from the mountains to the oceans, and all the incredible wildlife that lives here. We love the environment we live in, and see its health as integral to our own and that of our community.
The story behind our movement for the ocean.
The story it started with a mindful action and built to a united, energized community in motion. What started with a couple of guys tired of trash on the beach became a movement of thousands.
In the beginning we felt the pull to take action.
As we walked our beaches, the trash and pollution was impossible to ignore. It hurt wildlife and negatively impacted our experience, as we tried to enjoy the beautiful environment we live in.Ā
The damage to our environment was so obvious and clear, and this motivated us to start with a simple action.
We cleaned our beach.
The pull wasnāt just felt by us. As we took action, others did too
Our friends joined in, tourists began noticing our actions and joining in, we lead school groups in clean ups, and started formally hosting events.
As we came together as a community, new opportunities emerged. New partnerships were created with businesses and like-minded organizations, and people donated in support.
We hosted a huge second anniversary event with over 300 people participating. It was a beautiful moment for the community, the moment we committed to doing more and the moment our vision became clear.
